Consumer Culture Theory Conference

Thank you for your interest in registering for the 2022 Consumer Culture Theory Conference. This year, the conference is a synchronous, hybrid conference with two notable differences from prior years’ conferences: (1) The conference includes a virtual, synchronous event on June 30, 2022 and a hybrid, synchronous event, with attendees participating in-person and remotely, on July 7 to 9, 2022. (2) The hybrid conference begins on the morning of Thursday, July 7, and runs to late afternoon on Saturday, July 9.

Attendees may register to attend in-person or remotely.

At least one author of each accepted work must register for the conference in order for the work to appear in the conference program.

Registrants to the conference must agree to foster a conference environment free from discrimination, harassment, and assault, and to abide by the CCTC Statement on Harassment.

June 30: Virtual, synchronous event

• Working Paper presentations
• Arts & Photography gallery
• Poetry & Spoken Word reading
• Social event(s)

The June 30 virtual event is the only opportunity to present or view the Working Papers and Arts & Photography works by authors who register to attend remotely. Authors of Working Papers and Arts & Photography works who register to attend in-person should present at the June 30 virtual event and the July 7-9 hybrid event.

July 7-9: Hybrid, synchronous event

Programming begins each day at 8:30am Pacific Time.

The agenda includes these synchronous events:

• Focused Forums (roundtables, workshops, seminars), July 7
• Special Sessions & Competitive Paper presentations, July 8 and 9
• Working Paper reception, in-person only, July 8
• Plenary Sessions, July 7, 8, and 9
• Arts & Photography gallery, in-person only, July 7-9

For Focused Forums, Special Sessions, and Competitive Paper presentations, in-person attendees will present and/or participate in conference rooms, and remote attendees will present and/or participate via Zoom. The in-person Art & Photography Gallery, Working Paper Reception, Welcome Reception, and Closing Receptions will not offer a remote participation option.

PLEASE NOTE: CCTC Members receive a reduced registration rate. If you choose the CCTC Member rate you will need to become a CCTC member or renew (if needed) your membership within 24 hours. Non-Member registration fees do not include CCTC membership dues. CCTC Membership dues must be paid directly to CCTC. You should only choose Non-Member registration if you do not plan to join/renew your CCTC membership.

Note: A late registration fee of $100 USD will be added to the In-Person registration options beginning on June 1, 2022.
